who’s best?

I have only enough Ethers for 1 2LB sadly..

For me, it’s purple. I’ll admit the main reason is probably that I have a lot of fast, strong purple heroes

Green is the color that feels the most absent for me — especially when I bring Ragrim.

So what’s yours?

Since then there had been a few changes, and up until the latest change (that I recalled, before the old forum got the axe) was that the 5* heroes there had the list expanded (to include heroes from ### days back) and will include the released costumes if the costume rolls a yes.  Since that update, I haven't gotten anything new, not new non S1, and none of the S1 I got back came with any costumes.

So since we can't look at the little information "I" icon whenever all the functions are being used, I also don't get to look at these very often.  This past week after I picked up another costume-less S1, I decided to pause and check out the other levels and saw that the Rare and Epic trainings have also had similar (heroes from ### days back are also available at the all too familiar 5% rate).  I took a break from HA10 and decided to get the ball rolling a bit see if I can pick up a few Epics I missed.  Not going to hold my breath for any quick results because it's only 5% non vanilla, and the list is big.

Did HA9 (the Epic Troop retrain) get any updates, to include Specialized Epics (Ninja, Magic, Cyclops) as possible re-train results?  They are already in the Epic Troop portals.

Maybe as I see @ PlayForFun going about his usual forum topic/guide organizations, we might start seeing a guide for this several year old feature?

What's more worth it, taking someone from 1-80 or from 85-90?

Mine is at 218 roster space and I need 250 gems to increase. Definitely goes in the minimum category! I hate buying roster space! It should be free! 

Now let's see can anyone break this record: 2599 roster space and 4850 gems to increase? Yeah SG stops giving WE and roster space when you reach level 200 but gem prices!!!! No cap for the increase! Five small digital space can be the reason for a mortgage! What are they thinking? 

Another record: 11295 roster space and 3450 gems for the increase. So at one point when you buy roster space it increases the gem cost no matter what! Who thought of that? Even if they want you to spend gems they should keep it at 500 or below. At this point, unlocking 5 slots feels like trying to buy real estate on Mars.

For the first time ever today, I got a chalice. The one thing that was missing to level my sixth dragon. So was wondering who else got one? Bcs it sure was earned not given. And I am sure most are still earning! So drinks on me!

I know I missed a bunch, but you get the general idea, over the years some did get "remembered" see Lady Locke, Sargasso, Peters, Oceanus, Tethys, but the ones here continue to get the proverbial shaft but their colleagues in the same release have long gotten their C1 at the very least.

It's probably not going to be a very popular question in one of those AMA sessions, but would really like to see these "orphaned" heroes get suited up that were long overdue.

 Until yesterday, I only had one Ascension Mimic, which I’ve been using in all my farming teams. I was lucky to get purple as it's the color I have the most heroes of. Despite that, I’m still missing tabards. 

For emblems I have two and the one I need the least Monk! Having 13000 emblems, lol! But we can never have too many ME. And I do need the others.

I have one troop mimic and started to use it today. I did get a two star trainer with 3 WE I think. I do need to level more troops so I might use that one a lot.

I have 4 experience mimics and I used them a lot until the aether mimic came out. 

But I was lucky with aethers mimic, I got 4. All but red. What I need the most and find the most exciting to get are AA so I prioritize those. And since they are so scarce I do keep track of how many I get and from which color. Up to this point. 

Yellow: 2

Blue: 1

Purple: 0

Green: 0

By that, I mean that there seem to be some players who seem to be almost-constantly disappointed in HotM.  I'd certainly support HotM having a bit more oomph, but at the same time I still see a use for them for many folks, who might really like either at least semi-modern stats compared to older heroes and/or abilities they just don't have out of the ever-expanding panoply of portals.

so...

• what HotM do you have? like? use?  Either recent (and in current use), or historically (and even that you might love to see costume updates for to make them more feasible choices)?

Some for me personally: 
 

• at least semi recently: Claeg (I really needed a 5* blue healer, and one who heals/cleanses at Fast and can't be silenced is useful), Eliane (reasonable damage and dispel and self-mana-gain-from-burn), Mystia (reflect can be one of the most useful abilities in the game, especially against bigger foes), Chloris (decent boost heal with a notable persistent attack buff, if you can keep it; especially nice in Tower events)

• older but still useful at times: Mene and Aviana (some damage plus buff-blocking), Roughian & Nurgib (though stats/damage has been really starting to show its age, hit+mana steal is nice, and auto-chomping minions is a tasty passive), Ithar (VF buff-and-mana-steal is a potentially evergreen ability, even if she looks pretty small stats-wise these days)

• older favs I'd love to be bigger/more useful again: Malosi (no-status-effects at VF), Grazul (quick heal and ailmentblock), Hanitra (silenceproof Fast dodge and max-health-reduce-proof), Devana (hit-3, dispel-3, summon auto-eats enemy minions), Natalya (uncleansable DoT and significant mana-slow actually can be sneaky good in war cleanups)
