[Beta News] Early Information from Version 86 Beta
Gargon replied to Maryij - Ghost Division RO's topic in Beta Information
How many hero families have they previewed without actually introducing them now? Scoundrels, Rats, probably something I am forgetting... and now Dryads... So rats to follow cats on the wilderness, scoundrels for the next coventant family after the curernt constructs and Dryads the next AQ? Those all have families that have been around for a while now... Challenge events just recently got the long time previewed vegetables, The Mahayodha got their own new portal. -
As long as you can LB1 both, go for Devyani LB2. Hitters need the stats much more than healers. A brand new healer will do just fine for a while without the LB2.
-
That sounds pretty reasonable for new players. If you are actually in need of 3star mats, getting an extra one every week or so for doing stuff you would do anyway, sounds like a good deal. I mean using 300WE is not exactly representative to make any statement whatsoever in any direction, so I am not saying this is good or bad, just saying if this was actually the rate, it would be doing what it is supposed to be doing. Long terms players should have 5star boxes and no need for 4star ones anyway.

If you are only talking about S1 heroes then I think I generally like the toon passive the best, it has the widest range of effects and the highest % to trigger. Glass is basically a downgrade from toon, which is why they had to add the extra ability (bypass for hitters and reflect for healers) afterwards to make up for the worse passive. in some situations that makes the deal good enough, but I wouldn´t bother with it in most cases. The stylish passive is an interesting option for certain niches, most notably vegetables, as they can counter the fiends (which toon cannot) as well as wither effects (which have become a thing again on the buffed killer bot minions). Also the option to turn dot into healing can be powerful. But the most powerful costume passive in the game right now is probably the Musketeer passive, which has entered the meta and is in some parts even format defining.

Send an official ticket to support. If you are lucky and this is a bug you might actually get some kind of compensation. Not as much as you think most likely, but at least something.
-
Could be a bug, I have never used red coins, so I will eventually do multiple summons when there is a selection I actually am interested in (after they release journey costumes). A bug in a portal actually has a good chance to be adressed quickly and with compensation. if it´s just bad luck, of course neither will happen.

Maybe I´m just in a lucky bracket, where I can afford 1 or 2 of those heroes a year, while heroes like Hrothgar (one of the best 20 Soul options last time) I still play, but they are the weakest links on my teams. Playable yes, but not for long. Song on the other hand would be a top notch hero for me, basically the hero that would replace Hrothgar.

right, I am wondering the same things It´s going to be strange either way. A new competing portal with a shared currency is like UT portals, so not unprecedented, but I guess having to make a choice isn´t the worst thing ever. Having the same heroes pullable in 2 different portals with 2 different currencies is also not unprecedented, but so far that was only true for old filler heroes, or special guess portals like covenant/wilderness. Personally I would have done what you suggest and simply used the toons to spruce up the old portals, but I guess the problem with that is that too many people have saved up these garbage coins now and would get too many free pulls? They could have used this as a thing to relaunch the legends portal as well... But whatever way it goes can´t hurt to at least make a few of those old heroes interesting again. Ariel vs. Vivica is an easy choice. I got the stylish Vivica, but I am never going to upgrade a slow hero with 5 costumes lol, I never even upgraded Glass Azlar, because it´s too much work. Ariel with 2 is plenty enough, but at least reasonable. But if I go through the options, there are extremely few with interesting skills, that will become interesting heroes with minor skill buff and toon passive even if they all get modern stats. Not many of them besides Ariel and some titan (Tarlak/Oceanus) or niche (Mitsuko) heroes. In S3 the only serious option I can think of is LoLo, so mostly it´ll be the hotm costumes that are interesting, like Hel, Athena, etc.

I can see extra titan rewards as an option, whatever way shape or form that takes... Also gotta be color specific things for the 5 colors. Maybe kinda like the ascencion mimic for WE farming could be a titan ascencion mimic for titans energy and a titan aether mimic, basically they could recycle all the mimics we had and make them work on titan energy instead of world energy. I wonder if those rewards should then be damage related or simply TE related as they are now only WE related. I guess people could just do their regular damage hits for regular rewards and then use the autoplay hits to burn titan flasks with a rainbow of titan mimics. But if the rewards from that are better than from regular hits nobody is going to do regular hits anymore lol. I don´t know sounds like a fun idea to think about, but could cause some gameplay issues.

Sorry I don´t understand at all what you want the mimic to do?

Whatever people are willing to pay money for, has value. People decide how much they are willing to pay for a thing. If they wouldn´t pay the price, SG would sell it cheaper. If people weren´t willing to pay anything at all for that thing, SG would probably hand it out for free, because it would not have value for them... Same as loot tickets or time savers or gems for that matter. SG sells it for as much as they can. If people stopped paying for something, that thing would get cheaper. if people stopped paying altogether, the game would stop existing. It´s its own little market economy. Except in a much purer form than in reality, non of these pesky laws and regulations or even morals to deal with We can happily acquire murderers and weapons of mass destruction here without having to worry about how anyone views our moral integrity Man, I am on a roll today, I guess I better go back under and go kill a few folks

100% what @ BobTheSnark said: - art: horrible - passive: awesome - game value: awesome - are you sure they won´t be in the S2/S3 portals? Sounds like a complete idiocy if true I think they´ll simply show up in all the portals including their original portals, but you never know with SG, which intern´s been having an early happy hour...
-
"Need to" from a players perspective I agree. "Want to" from SGs persepective though. SG is happy to keep FTPs happy if it doesn´t cost them anything, yes. But if they have the option to get paying customers interested at the same time? The only thing I wonder is: why not earlier? What (especially cheap or free) players want and what SG want is not often the same thing and since they make the rules... People already struggle with rosterspace, it´s one of the main arguments when one reads comments about SE. Now people can spend a max of 70 souls per SE compared to a max of 20 souls before. The big spenders that are now attracted more to SE, so far only had to keep 20 roster spaces for SE (if any at all, the biggest ones may not even have bothered at all) have to buy an extra 30 (if only the 50 category is a goal) to 50 (if they want to pick all 3) roster spaces. At big roster sizes that is a considerable amount of money. I think that´s a bit exaggerated. All of this money spending is on a sliding scale. The step from 20 to 50 isn´t a new dimension, not even an order of magnitude. If there´s a paywall now, it has been there before, it just moved a bit down the scale. If there hasn´t been one before, there still isn´t. So sure less people will do 50 every time than did 20 every time before. Nobody says you have to do top category every time. But if 20 was an option before you can just save up for 2 or 3 rounds to get to 50. If 20 wasn´t an option, 50 still isn´t. It´s not like we go from everybody going every time, to nobody going ever. I think the change from 10 to 5 in the lowest category is much more significant to a lot more people than the change from 20 to 50. Now the lowest category is a serious alternative, when previously it was a "skip it, save up for better" recommendation in 95% of cases. On the old pricing you had to choose between 3x10er heroes vs 2x15er heroes, which the 15ers would always win. Now it is 3x5er vs 1x15er hero, that is much better matchup for the 5ers. Not only can a lot more people afford these heroes and if we are talking about people struggling to find 10 heroes we are in a group of players who should be able to find useful heroes in that category. But I personally will be a lot more open to actually recommending heroes as a good value deal.
-
I like the change. I think it could be further improved, but this version is better than what we currently have. The 50 is tough, but the heroes are worth saving up for. I would rather pick one of those than 2 or 3 of the ones we get offered at 20. I also like the 5, because it makes the budget deals a) affordable to basically anyone and b) so cheap they actually become an option to pick, while I would pass on them for 10. Like in this case for example Thalassa or Odile. At 10 I would not recommend picking them if you can get a better hero for 15. (Only 50%more) But 5 is nothing. And now the better option costs 200% more. So the cheaper options gain value. I also like that picking multiple heroes is an option, especially combined with the new 5 soul category. Before the lowest were usually excluded because better heroes were picked, but now it’s possible to pick a little niche hero up on the side. like I was very happy with Silverpaw last time, but if this SE had been available I could have picked Silverpaw and Odile as well as a Bearnie counter or Ahmose for rush etc. As to what I don´t like: I don’t see why it is necessary to get rid of the 20 category. They could have just kept it or maybe upped it to 25 for the symmetry of pricing and then added added the 50 category. I guess they didn’t want to change the gamecode to add another line of heroes or something like that? Or maybe they figured, people would complain if they upped the price by 5 souls, so instead they went to change it completely, which I guess will produce fewer complaints as it is harder to compare new and old versions. People always complain when there is an easy target to complain about: "Oh they increased the cost from 20 to 25, SG is all about money" (duh!) Vs now people have to value better heroes at a higher price which isn´t as black and white and well we all know much people like judging grey scales... But I am drifting off into sales psychology for no good reason... Anyway overall I would be more interested in this version than the old one.

The only thing you show, if anything, is how lucrative selling roster space is...
-
It´s a matter of priorities, if you want to improve your titan damage, go for Gastille. If you are happy with your titan damage (or of course MT performance) Gastille would be likely much lower priority than some of these above for say PvP purposes.
-
same old... Lots of things should be free... But they aren´t because SG can make money selling them. So why on Earth would they hand them out for free? No point complaining about it. If you feel strongly about it, and you think other people do, too: organize a strike, if you can make 100 whales stop spending money they will listen. Otherwise stop wasting your time on complaints and dreams that will never happen. I think my roster space right now costs 850 gems and I never buy those roster space deals, because they are horrible deals. It´s cheaper to buy the space with gems. Mainly I am hoping they do some nice SE rework so I can start getting rid of more than 15 or 20 old junkers at a time
-
They will most definitely not do that, why waste time and effort on something completely unnecessary? The only thing that matters is the costume bonus. It will be appropriately high to make the stats competitive. There is no need to make an intermediate costume and then two smaller CBs. Also would be way more annoying for us to max and we´d never play the C1s anyway. So I really hope they don´t do some silly nonsense like that.

I never said Chloris is completely and utterly useless, I just say Melendor is the better hero. But even the weaker hero has a few niches where she´ll be better than Melendor. Would I level her for the occasional niche use where she actually will be better than Melendor? No, of course not. I am of course a bad example, I have heroes that actually are better than Melendor, so I don´t even need er ass a bench warmer. I don´t actually play 4star heroes in wars unless extreme circumstances. Just saying that is where Chloris is at. Struggling to keep up with 4 stars and in most cases losing. Now if I had 100 of each 4star mat and zero other heroes to level, then why the hell not level her, Malosi, Grazul and Noor, too? They all have potential use cases. But if I have to economize my resources and make choices between heroes, well all of them are very far down the line. There is no right or wrong here, it´s a simple matter of roster strength, the better the roster the fewer heroes are worth spending resources on, while the weakest rosters can basically max any hero and benefit from it.
