Master thread indicated that there is currently no way to see how much Platinum you currently had, can only view it when the event is active.  There may be monthly limits that you could trade (e.g. exhaust all the options available if you choose), but looks like you can stockpile unused Platinum for future with no max limit.

Someone asked this same question on the E&P Facebook page, the official answer from E&P also confirms this.
